• GBurns Jug Band

    G Burns Jug Band

Shot G Burns Jug Band on some 4×5 film, with a projected image. This was for their new album “The Southern Pacific and The Santa Fe”. Great guys! They were just jamming the whole time I was setting up and getting ready for everything, making it a really fun shoot and a private jam session […]

  • GayleFlowers

    Gayle Skidmore

Here is a pic of Gayle Skidmore; a beautiful person, singer, and master of of music. She has won SD music award for best Singer Songwriter in 2013, and best Pop album in 2014, and one of the most pleasant people I have had the opportunity to photograph. For this pic I had a friend […]

  • RockinChair

    Grampadrew

A nice little pic of Grampadrew playing guitar. I wanted to try and capture a bit of his musical stylings and personality in a picture. He speaks from the heart on political and social topics, but much more than that, he is a friendly and caring individual who holds the essence of punk rock in […]

    Matt Strachota

I took these pics of Matt Strachota a good while ago, and even though I already delivered them to him, I’m just now getting around to putting them up on my website.. My idea here was to just have a straight portrait, shoot HDR with film, and process the images together. I shot a total […]

    Sunday Funday

Spent my Sunday trying out a few shots.. The motorcycles are projected on the wall with Kandice in front of it. I wanted to try my hand at using a projector in photos, which can be a bit challenging. Really do need a huge space in order to have the screen dark and enough light […]

  • TwoWolvesScreen

    Two Wolves

I shot this image of the band Two Wolves with my Lowel hot light set, and wanted rough grain so I exposed the film at 6400 ISO. I really wanted some straight photo funk to pop out, so I massively overdeveloped it using D-76 at a 1:1 ratio, 125degrees, and developed at 12 minutes. That’s […]

  • From outside of Zion 2012 eclipse

    Nature

From outside of Zion 2012 eclipse. It was a beautiful time. We were all alone, not another soul in sight, and then when the moon went directly into the center and made that perfect ring of fire, unseen people all around the park started wooping and applauding the spectacle.

  • Joshua Tree Sunset

    Nature

One of my many trips to Joshua Tree, I climbed up a relatively small rock pile just before sunset and sat there watching this beautiful scene unfold before me. Great times with good friends.

  • Anza Borrego

    Nature

Hiking out to Sombrero Peak is a bushwhacking great time. Literally- the trails aren’t used nearly enough to keep maintained. Once you get out to the peak, there’s a friendly ammo box full of surprises.

  • Rockclimbing Bell Rock, view of Courthouse Butte

    Nature

Went out to Sedona with my pops, cause he wanted to go. I brought my rockclimbing shoes, and used them the first stop we came to. This is Bell rock, just as you enter Sedona, 360 degree view.

  • High Desert, morning rainbow after nighttime snowfall

    Nature

Anza Borrego State Park. Went hiking with a couple friends and decided to stay the night on Whale Peak. Found a nice spot that was flat and surrounded by rocks. In the middle of the night we all huddled together to sleep as the snow and lightning came down. We were mostly well protected. The […]

  • After the fire

    Nature

Just a lovely hike through mountains that were recently burned. Life rebounds quickly with water.

  • Oil rig gear rusty

    Nature

I always wondered what was on top of those cliffs along the 101 outside of La Conchita.

  • Rockclimbing sunset

    Nature

I was a regular at Santee Boulders for a few years. This shot makes me think of surfing a rock or riding a sandworm.

  • Zion National Park

    Nature

Zion National Park in 2005. I love shooting and hiking with a 4×5 view camera. People are always interested – especially when seeing one several miles from the nearest road.

  • Cave Paintings

    Nature

A little outside of Sedona is the Palatki heritage site. Mot of the cave paintings are blocked off in this area, but not this one. Just around the corner from the other cave paintings was this slightly ignored ‘Georgia O’Keefe’ cave painting. There is a small hut at this spot too. I’m convinced it’s for […]

  • Lizard's Mouth rockclimbing and bouldering area

    Nature

Up in the mountains overlooking Santa Barbara, there is a nice bouldering area called Lizards Mouth. This was taken at sunrise. I took a bunch of images, and originally thought the plane was a random piece of dust in the sky for a single image. Turns out a plane really wanted me to take a […]

  • Pigeon on film

    Nature

This is one of the earliest photos that i took on 35mm film. It was found exactly the way it was photographed. It used to be an image with great tonality and depth, until I destroyed it carrying it around in various folders and boxes. I needed to scan it with the current level of […]
