Two Wolves

Did a shoot for the local band Two Wolves. I was shooting 4×5 film for them, waiting on processing it, but I am going to process it myself and make it as grainy as Tri-X can get when exposed at 6400 ISO and processed with high temp developer. Here is the test shot with digital and only a few Lightroom enhancements.. TwoWolves45small

Hurrell project

I was given a 1940s beseler 45mx by my fathers kind friend, and getting my hands on a beautiful 4×5 enlarger meant that I could finally start printing my crown graphic negs at home. The only thing I could think of even doing next was to copy the master of light, George Hurrell. Ive been really excited about this and have been working on it for a little while now. I decided to bring a polaroid out to this shoot, so heres some snaps of the test polaroids. Just wait til you see the prints!

Reincarnate MFG

Here’s some pics I took with Jay Bermal, creator and skater of Reincarnate MFG. This skateboard is rad, it’s like snowboarding and carving on asphalt! Pretty awesome how he made these trucks, check out his website at reincarnatemfg.com

Yosemite

Went camping in Yosemite for 3 days with a few good friendsĀ at the Wawona campground. We all went hiking, had a good time at the campsite, and I spent most of the time taking pics, chopping wood, and trying my hand at fly fishing. All around a great camping trip. Here’s a few of my pics.. I pretty much just shot HDR images for all of these. Completely handheld, with 3 exposures at 2 stop brackets. It’s not the absolute best for HDR images, but I know HEP2 would give me decent results for it :)

From outside of Zion 2012 eclipse

November 7, 2012

Nature

From outside of Zion 2012 eclipse. It was a beautiful time. We were all alone, not another soul in sight, and then when the moon went directly into the center and made that perfect ring of fire, unseen people all around the park started wooping and applauding the spectacle.

Joshua Tree Sunset

November 7, 2012

Nature

One of my many trips to Joshua Tree, I climbed up a relatively small rock pile just before sunset and sat there watching this beautiful scene unfold before me. Great times with good friends.

Anza Borrego

Nature

Hiking out to Sombrero Peak is a bushwhacking great time. Literally- the trails aren’t used nearly enough to keep maintained. Once you get out to the peak, there’s a friendly ammo box full of surprises.

Rockclimbing Bell Rock, view of Courthouse Butte

Nature

Went out to Sedona with my pops, cause he wanted to go. I brought my rockclimbing shoes, and used them the first stop we came to. This is Bell rock, just as you enter Sedona, 360 degree view.

High Desert, morning rainbow after nighttime snowfall

November 7, 2012

Nature

Anza Borrego State Park. Went hiking with a couple friends and decided to stay the night on Whale Peak. Found a nice spot that was flat and surrounded by rocks. In the middle of the night we all huddled together to sleep as the snow and lightning came down. We were mostly well protected. The snow melted off by about 9am, and around 930 all that was left in the 90degree weather was this beautiful rainbow.
